As the superstar returns to form with a half-century record, Virat Kohli smashes Sachin Tendulkars enormous world record.

It took Virat Kohli two games to get into his groove, but once he did, nothing felt more enjoyable. After two consecutive ducks, the former captain of the Indian cricket team travelled to Sydney for the third ODI match against Australia. He was aware that the star was under increasing pressure. In fact, Kohli even pumped his fist in celebration after getting his first run. He proceeded to make his 305th ODI appearance and reach his half-century.
With that, Kohli surpassed Sachin Tendulkar's record for the most ODI chase scores of fifty or more. Now, Kohli has seventy of these scores. During the innings, Kohli also became the second-highest run-scorer in ODI history, surpassing the legendary Kumar Sangakkara of Sri Lanka.

Most ODI runs

Sachin Tendulkar, 18,426 (452 innings)

Virat Kohli, 14,235 (293 innings)

14,234: 380 innings of Kumar Sangakkara

Sanath Jayasuriya, 13,430 (433 innings)
