"Beware, Lest You Be Eliminated": Iran Threatens Trump Following His Warning to Mojtaba

Ali Larijani, Iran's security chief, threatened US President Donald Trump in a social media post on Tuesday. In an X post, Larijani wrote, "Even those greater than you could not eliminate Iran. Watch out for yourself, lest you be eliminated!"
Earlier, Trump made threatening remarks about Iran and its new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated that if Iran attempts to halt the flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz, the US will attack it "twenty times harder" than prior strikes. He stated that the strikes will make it hard for the Islamic republic to "ever be rebuilt back".

"Death, Fire, and Fury will reign upon them - But I hope, and pray, that it does not happen!" Trump wrote.
Furthermore, Trump has threatened Mojtaba Khamenei, claiming that he will be unable to "live in peace".
In an interview with Fox News, Trump stated that he is "not happy" with Iran's choice of leader. "I don't believe he can live in peace," Trump stated. He has expressed significant displeasure of Iran's election of Ali Khamenei's second son as its next leader.
Prior to Mojtaba Khamenei's selection, Trump insisted that the US have a vote in selecting Iran's next leader, comparable to previous US engagement in Venezuela.On February 28, the United States and Israel conducted strikes against Iran, killing its supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and sparking a regional conflict.

Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes on Israel and other countries in the area.
Shipping traffic via the Strait of Hormuz, which typically transports roughly 20% of the world's crude oil, has been seriously affected.

Sirens sounded in Jerusalem, and explosions could be heard in Tel Aviv as Israel's defense systems sought to intercept Iranian missiles.
