Commercial LPG cylinder prices increased by Rs 993 two days after the polls closed

State-run oil corporations have mostly protected domestic consumers from any immediate effects of rising global energy costs. But the cost of commercial cylinders increased by Rs 993. This occurs barely two days after Bengal's final phase of the five-state elections concluded on April 29.
Local airlines continue to pay the same costs for domestic LPG and aviation turbine fuel (ATF). However, there was a 5% increase in the cost of jet fuel for foreign carriers.
Additionally, the retail prices of fuel and diesel have remained stable. Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) claims that the public has not been impacted by any changes to critical fuels, with oil companies bearing the increased cost of inputs, including ATF used by domestic planes.

On the other hand, ATF prices have been raised in accordance with worldwide benchmarks for some industrial fuels and foreign carriers.
The increase in commercial LPG cylinder prices will take effect on May 1. In Delhi, a 19-kg commercial cylinder currently costs Rs 3,071.50.
Businesses like hotels, restaurants, and catering services are probably going to be impacted by the increase, but home customers are still protected.
Overall, the prices of around 80% of petroleum products have remained same, 4% have decreased, and 16%, mostly industrial fuels, have increased. On the other hand, ATF prices have been raised in accordance with worldwide benchmarks for some industrial fuels and foreign carriers.
