Due to "illegal detention and misconduct" at Tangi, Cuttack, an Odisha police inspector was suspended.

The Director General of Police (DGP) issued an order on Saturday suspending Siba Prasad Bhadra, the Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) of the Tangi Police Station in Cuttack, Odisha. Allegations that someone was unlawfully detained for two days while an investigation was underway led to the action. Due to emotional stress, the patient had to be admitted to the hospital.
According to sources, Krupasindhu Pradhan, a native of Nandua village in the Salagaon panchayat of Cuttack, Odisha, is involved in the event. He was reportedly taken from his residence by Tangi Police on October 21 in relation to a land dispute issue. His health reportedly worsened after he was detained at the police station for two days. Following his first transfer to the Tangi Primary Health Centre, Pradhan is currently receiving treatment at the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
Allegations from the family
According to family members, Pradhan was physically assaulted while in detention, which allegedly made his condition worse.
"He was physically assaulted while in police custody," his brother said. After taking him to Tangi PHC, we moved him to SCBMCH in Cuttack. Two people, Ajay Jena and Bidhyadhar Behera, coerced my brother into giving them ownership of his land. My brother owns the land, but they threatened to transfer title. In this case, we seek appropriate action.
