he Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has revised the schedule for the RRB NTPC 2025 Stage 1 Computer-Based Test (CBT).
The exam will now be conducted from June 5 to June 24, 2025, in multiple shifts across various centres nationwide. Admit cards will be available for download from June 1, 2025, on the official RRB website.
This examination is a crucial step in the recruitment of 11,558 vacancies under the Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC), which include both undergraduate and graduate-level posts within Indian Railways.
RRB NTPC 2025: Original Exam Timings
The Stage 1 CBT will be held in three shifts each day as follows:
Shift 1: Reporting Time 7:30 AM, Gate Closing Time 8:30 AM, Exam Time 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM
Shift 2: Reporting Time 11:15 AM, Gate Closing Time 12:15 PM, Exam Time 12:45 PM to 2:15 PM
Shift 3: Reporting Time 3:00 PM, Gate Closing Time 4:00 PM, Exam Time 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM
Selection Process
The recruitment process involves multiple stages:
Computer-Based Test (CBT) 1: The initial screening test
Computer-Based Test (CBT) 2: For shortlisted candidates
Typing Skill Test: Applicable for certain posts
Document Verification: Final stage before appointment
Candidates who have successfully registered can download their admit cards from June 1, 2025. The City Intimation Slip, which informs candidates of their exam location, will be available from May 27, 2025.
Exam Pattern and Syllabus
The Stage 1 CBT comprises 100 multiple-choice questions to be answered within 90 minutes, covering:
General Awareness: 40 questions
Mathematics: 30 questions
General Intelligence and Reasoning: 30 questions
Each correct answer awards one mark, while one-third of a mark is deducted for every incorrect response as negative marking. Candidates with disabilities (PwBD) who require scribes will be granted an additional 30 minutes to complete the exam.

The RRB NTPC 2025 recruitment drive includes a total of 11,558 vacancies divided into:
Undergraduate Posts (3,445 vacancies): Includes Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Train Clerk, and Commercial cum Ticket Clerk.
Graduate Posts (8,113 vacancies): Includes Traffic Assistant, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, and Station Master.
