Following a splenic laceration, Shreyas Iyer is at a hospital in Sydney.

Following a splenic laceration, India batsman Shreyas Iyer is still being watched and cared for at a hospital in Sydney. Although Shreyas is stable, he is still being watched in the Intensive Care Unit [ICU] and his discharge date is still unclear.
While fielding in the third ODI against Australia, Shreyas Iyer suffered an impact injury to his left lower rib cage. According to a BCCI announcement, he was brought to the hospital for additional assessment. "A splenic laceration damage was discovered by scans.

"He is receiving treatment, his health is steady, and he is making good progress. The BCCI medical staff is keeping a careful eye on his injury status while consulting with experts in Sydney and India. To assess Shreyas' daily progress, the Indian team doctor will stay in Sydney with him.
After making a catch while running backwards from point to dismiss Alex Carey during India's third One-Day International match against Australia in Sydney, Shreyas sustained the injury on impact. Without hesitation, he gripped his rib cage and called for help.

For the rest of Australia's innings, Shreyas was removed from the pitch and did not come back. In a brief statement at the time, the BCCI stated that he had been brought to the hospital for "further evaluation and assessment" by their medical team. It's currently unknown when Shreyas will be able to play again.
While the other ODI experts departed Australia on Sunday, one member of the BCCI's medical staff is still in Sydney with Shreyas. The members of India's T20I team have left for Canberra, where they trained for the first time on Monday.

India lost the three-match series 2-1 after losing the opening two matches in Perth and Adelaide, but they won the third ODI by nine wickets.

On October 29, the five-match T20I series begins in Canberra. Melbourne and Hobart will follow. The T20I team does not include Shreyas. India's next match is an ODI series against South Africa, which starts in Ranchi on November 30.
