Forest officials are on alert after finding tiger pugmarks close to Dhenkanal village.

Concern among locals has increased after more tiger footprint sightings were found in the Bhagamunda forest under Kankadahad block in the Dhenkanal district of Odisha. The latest traces were discovered a few days after Khata Khura hamlet, which is part of Kamakhyanagar's eastern range, reported similar sightings.
Reports state that after people reported the tracks to the Forest Department, a team arrived at the location and began additional research.
Residents Continue to Feel Fearful Despite Continued Tiger Sightings
Villagers in and around Kamakhyanagar have been on edge for the past few days because of frequent tiger sightings. However, other from the footprints, forest officials have not yet discovered any indication of the animal.
In order to track the large cat's potential moves, the agency has been keeping an eye on the impacted areas.
Previous Reports
A Royal Bengal Tiger (RBT) was spotted in the area on October 11 and was allegedly feeding on cows. Following the discovery of a bull carcass in the Kantaripat forest that was thought to have been killed by a tiger, fear swept over the eastern and western ranges.
Officials from the Forest Department had warned surrounding towns and issued cautionary statements via loudspeakers. Tiger tracks were seen in several wooded sites over the course of the following four days, but the animal itself was still elusive. It was also said that the tiger had killed two cows before.

Authorities Suggest Caution
Forest staff and local officials are now on high alert since the tiger is still moving close to human areas. Villagers have been urged to stay alert, refrain from going into wooded regions by themselves, and notify the Forest Department right away if they see anything more. All of the impacted ranges are still being monitored and searched.
