In a lawsuit, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) accused Hyderabad-based TEC Aero Devices of submitting fake test results while supplying aeroplane parts for the LCA Mk-1A fighter aircraft program.
The FIR states that starting on March 28, 2022, HAL Aircraft Division sent 18 purchase orders to TEC Aero Devices for the provision of parts for the LCA Mk-1A program. The company was granted approval certificates to manufacture 35 kinds of components totalling 172 items after samples, test results, and other technical papers were examined.When supplying components in bulk, the provider has to present original test reports in accordance with the terms of the procurement. Tensile strength, hardness, break load, shear, non-destructive testing (NDT), microstructure, and salt spray tests are just a few of the quality parameters for which TEC Aero Devices subsequently supplied 199 test reports.
Axis Inspection Solutions, a Hyderabad-based company whose name was on the documents, was contacted by HAL's Quality Control Department to corroborate the reports during a follow-up verification. According to a November 29, 2023, HAL audit revealed that Axis Inspection Solutions had not really issued any of the 199 test reports.According to the audit, TEC Aero Devices submitted 199 reports between February and September of 2023, all of which were purportedly faked. Axis Inspection Solutions notified HAL that the reports were falsified without its consent and that its name and signatures had been abused.
Following the findings, HAL debarred TEC Aero Devices from conducting business with the company for three years, until March 10, 2027. According to HAL, the supplier had not received any money in relation to the contested supply.Following a show-cause warning, HAL removed TEC Aero Devices from its list of approved suppliers for a three-year period after reviewing the company's answer and holding internal discussions.

HAL chose to take criminal action and filed a formal complaint against TEC Aero Devices following the conclusion of internal proceedings. The complainant claimed that the time required for internal investigations, audits, and administrative processes was the reason for the delay in filing the FIR.
The alleged submission of falsified quality certification paperwork has been reported to the police, and an investigation is currently in progress.
