"Im Disowning My Father": Daughter Grace Warns Matthew Hayden Following Joe Roots "Naked" Promise

Recently, legendary Australian opener Matthew Hayden was spared from keeping an odd commitment. If top England batsman Joe Root failed to produce a century in the current Ashes Test series, Hayden had threatened to walk around the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) naked. Hayden wouldn't have to after Root scored a hundred in the second Test at The Gabba. In light of this, cricket commentator Grace Hayden, the daughter of Matthew Hayden, joked that she would "disown" her father if he made a similar pledge in the future.
Grace Hayden thanked Joe Root for stopping her father from going around the MCG nude. For England, Root scored an undefeated 138 in the opening innings.

"I was quite appreciative that Root received a perfect score. In a social media video, Grace Hayden stated, "It was the first time in my life I wanted an Englishman to do well in an Ashes series."
"Oh my god, Root, you have my sincere gratitude. She went on, "If my father says he's going to run naked around anything ever again, I'm disowning him."
In an earlier Instagram post, Grace Hayden thanked Root for "saving all our eyes" following his century.

After England lost the second Ashes Test to Australia and fell behind 2-0 in the series, Matthew Hayden criticized England bowler Jofra Archer's strategy.

Australia's captain Steve Smith and Archer got into a verbal altercation before the batter hit the pacer for a couple of boundaries.
Hayden stated, "It was really quite painful to watch with Jofra Archer," according to The Sydney Morning Herald.
"He turned it up during times when he was in Perth. However, he bowled most of those overs at 130–136 km/h when it mattered most in the first innings (in Brisbane), he said.
"Then to witness the glaring disparity in airspeed during Australia's second innings, along with the verbal assault and phony grins. Jofra Archer would never win over his own supporters with that, let alone a legendary player like Steve Smith," he remarked.

"Certainly, for people who know the game very well, that was a very disappointing reaction with very little humility and a whole bunch of bravado," Hayden added.
