In Arunachal Pradesh, a banned ULFA (I) member was killed in an army encounter.

According to officials, a senior member of the outlawed United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I), who is suspected of being involved in the attack on an army camp in Kakopathar, Assam, last week, was killed in an early-morning clash with security forces in Arunachal Pradesh's Namsai district on Wednesday.
On the intervening night of October 21 and 22, the Assam Rifles and Indian Army conducted a coordinated operation in the MS-6 sector of Namsai. During the operation, security personnel made touch with a group of insurgents, according to a Ministry of Defence PRO Lt Col Amit Shukla statement.

In order to reinforce the cordon and step up the ongoing operation, more columns of security forces, including police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troops, have been brought into the area, the statement continued.
As the operation progresses, more information is anticipated.
