IRCTC will launch a 14-day Bharat-Bhutan train; learn about the important locations, booking procedures, and costs.

In a bid to boost tourism and connect travellers with the natural and cultural beauty of India and Bhutan, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has announced a special 14-day rail journey called the ‘Bharat-Bhutan Mystic Mountain Tour.’

The tour will begin on June 28, 2025, from Safdarjung Railway Station in Delhi, offering a unique cross-country experience for 150 passengers.

Key Stops in India

The journey kicks off with a visit to Guwahati, where tourists will explore the sacred Kamakhya Temple perched on the Nilachal Hills.

From there, the train moves to Shillong, known for its lush landscapes and British-era charm. Visitors will witness sunset views at Umiam Lake and stay overnight before heading to Cherrapunji, famous for being one of the wettest places on earth. Highlights here include the Seven Sisters Falls, Nohkalikai Falls, Elephant Falls, and the Mawsmai Caves.

Before heading to Bhutan, guests will enjoy a peaceful sunset cruise on the Brahmaputra River in Guwahati.
