Lac bangles are the main draw at Bhubaneswars Adibasi Mela in 2026.

Large numbers are attending the annual Adibasi Mela 2026 in Bhubaneswar, and one of the main draws of the tribal fair is the stall selling traditional lac bangles. Particularly in the evening, there is a continual stream of people attending the mela, which highlights the rich culture, art, and customs of tribal communities.
Visitors are swarming to the lac bangle stand, where craftspeople are creating bangles in real time using age-old traditional methods, especially young girls and ladies. Long lines have formed at the stand, which is now the main attraction of the fair, as patrons observe the elaborate process of creating bracelets and place orders based on their favorite patterns and hues.

To mold the bangles, artisans use lac as the main raw material and manufacture a unique glue known locally as Kusuma chuda. Each bracelet has a vivid and unique finish because to the meticulous blending of colors into the heated lac. Depending on the pattern and detailing, the bangles, which are made by hand on the spot, start at about Rs 100 per pair.
One of the artisans described the procedure, stating that each bangle needs to be carefully heated, shaped, and decorated by hand. It's a delicate and time-consuming operation. The artisan stated that it takes more than 30 minutes to make even one bracelet.

With live displays of traditional workmanship, low pricing, and a strong cultural appeal, the lac bangle stall has added to the attractiveness of the Adibasi Mela 2026. The fair, which provides a special venue to honor and promote indigenous art and heritage, continues to draw both locals and visitors.
