Dhurandhar, Aditya Dhar's second movie, is doing incredibly well at the box office. Within the first week of its release, the spy thriller, which stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role, has already made over ₹270 crore at the global box office. The film has not slowed down, even on weekdays, thanks to positive word-of-mouth from viewers who have also expressed their positive reactions to it. Madhur Bhandarkar, a National Award-winning director, has now expressed his thoughts on the movie, claiming that it will cause a "paradigm shift" in the movie business.
"The dynamics of Hindi cinema are going to be redefined by this one film."
"After Dhurandhar's super success, there will be a big paradigm shift in the Mumbai film industry, driven by strong content, diverse casting, and production houses backing scripts that resonate with audiences on a large scale," Madhur tweeted on his X account on Thursday. This one movie has the potential to completely change the way that stories, skill, and conviction are combined in Hindi filmmaking.
Madhur's assessment of Dhurandhar
The director wrote, "Watched #Dhurandhar, and what an explosive, thrilling ride it was!" in his earlier X assessment of the movie. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time since it's a suspenseful, compelling spy thriller.
"Ranveer Singh is feral, electrifying, and brilliant as Hamza," he remarked, praising the ensemble. Actress Sara Arjun, Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sanjay Dutt are all exceptionally talented. I had never thought of Rakesh Bedi as a dangerous politician, so he was a revelation to me. But as the intimidating, powerful mafia lord, Akshaye Khanna absolutely steals the show—pure masterclass acting! Bravo to director @AdityaDharFilms for creating this ambitious movie with such depth and emotion. Many congrats to the whole team.
Ranveer plays an Indian spy infiltrating the terror networks centered in Lyari in the Pakistani spy thriller Dhurandhar. Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and R Madhavan also play important parts in it.
The movie's second installment is scheduled to hit theaters on March 19 of next year.
