India won the 2025 Asia Cup more than a month ago, but the trophy hasn't arrived yet. According to reports, the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has now chosen to turn over the agenda to the ICC. The board's decision to bring up the issue at the next ICC meeting on November 4 has been verified by BCCI joint secretary Devajit Saikia, who is hopeful that the trophy would soon arrive at BCCI headquarters in Mumbai.
In a video interview with PTI, he said, "Yes, we are a little bit unhappy with the way the trophy has not been given to us even after a month."
"We're looking into this. We also submitted a letter to the ACC chairman about ten days ago, but their position hasn't changed," Saikia disclosed.
"They are still keeping the trophy under their custody, but we hope that the trophy will reach us in a day or two at the BCCI office in Mumbai," Saikia said, expressing optimism that the issue will be settled quickly despite all the commotion. He did, however, stress that the matter will be formally raised at the ICC conference in Dubai the following week if the handover is not completed quickly.
With an assured demeanour, Saikia told Indian cricket fans that the matter will eventually be resolved in their favour.
