More downpours in store for Odisha as heavy rains to lash till Sept 13

Odisha is once again bracing for a fresh spell of intense rainfall as the Regional Meteorological Centre on Sunday predicted heavy to very heavy showers across the state till September 13. According to the forecast, several parts of the state are likely to experience widespread rainfall activity over the next six days, which may also trigger localised waterlogging in low-lying areas.

The Met Centre has specifically issued a Yellow Warning for eight districts on Monday, alerting residents and authorities to be prepared for heavy downpours. The districts under warning include Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, and Balangir. These regions, mostly located in southern and western Odisha, are expected to witness intense spells of rain accompanied by thunderstorms at isolated places.
