Recently suspended by the Congress, Navjot Kaur Sidhu has made grave accusations against the Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government, requesting protection and accusing the government of protecting the mining and liquor gangs.
In a post on X, Sidhu questioned the lack of responsiveness to concerns he had previously brought up with the Punjab Governor and cautioned that the Chief Minister would be responsible for any threat to his safety.
Sidhu posted a thorough letter he sent to Gulab Chand Kataria, the governor of Punjab, accusing him of the "biggest land scandal" in the province.
She asserted that the current administration was regularising large-scale illicit land holdings in the Shivalik belt, including protected forest areas.Sidhu claimed that land sharks were now receiving legal protection after obtaining plots ranging from one acre to ten thousand acres at throwaway prices.
Sidhu recalled her husband Navjot Singh Sidhu's time as Minister of Local Bodies, saying that he ordered an investigation rather than sign documents pertaining to the problems.
Sidhu expressed serious concern about Punjab's law and order situation, stating that the state was seeing an increase in crime, weapon misuse, and public panic, which was making people think about migrating.
In order to address important concerns, such as commemorating Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and preserving institutional autonomy, he encouraged the Governor to call an urgent special session of the Punjab Assembly. He also called for prompt action to rebuild public trust.
