NCW Launches Yashoda AI: First-of-Its-Kind AI Literacy Drive for Women

The National Commission for Women (NCW) has launched Yashoda AI, a pioneering initiative aimed at promoting AI literacy among women across India. Touted as the first-of-its-kind program in the country, Yashoda AI is designed to empower women by enhancing their understanding of artificial intelligence and equipping them with the digital skills necessary to thrive in a technology-driven world.

The initiative will provide structured learning modules on AI fundamentals, applications, safety, and ethical usage, tailored specifically for women from diverse backgrounds. Whether they are students, professionals, homemakers, or entrepreneurs, the program aims to ensure inclusive access to AI education.

Yashoda AI will be rolled out in collaboration with technology partners, educational institutions, and civil society organizations. Training will be available both online and offline to maximize reach, especially in rural and underserved areas. The project also includes awareness sessions, interactive workshops, and access to digital resources.

NCW Chairperson Rekha Sharma emphasized that digital empowerment is key to gender equality in the 21st century. With Yashoda AI, the NCW hopes to bridge the gender gap in technology and inspire more women to participate confidently in the digital economy.
