No More Israeli Attacks Unless...: Trump After Iran Strikes Qatars LNG Plant

US President Donald Trump has stated that Israel will not attack Iran's prized South Pars gas facility unless Tehran "unwisely decides to attack a very innocent, in this case, Qatar". The comments come after Tehran escalated attacks on its Persian Gulf neighbors' energy facilities, including the world's largest gas facilities in Qatar, following Israel's attack on Iran's South Pars offshore liquefied natural gas (LNG) field, which it shares with Qatar.
The American commander-in-chief said that Israel acted "violently" and "out of anger" over the conflict, and that the "United States knew nothing about" Israel's attack against the Iranian gas field.

"In response to recent events in the Middle East, Israel has forcefully attacked Iran's South Pars Gas Field. A comparatively modest portion of the entire has been struck. On his Truth Social platform, he stated that the United States was unaware of the attack and that Qatar had no involvement or knowledge of its planned events.Unfortunately, Iran was unaware of these or any other relevant details regarding the South Pars attack, and hence unjustifiably and unfairly attacked a piece of Qatar's LNG Gas infrastructure," he continued.

However, if Iran attacks Qatar, Trump stated that the US, "with or without the help or consent of Israel, will massively blow up the entirety of the South Pars Gas Field at an amount of strength and power that Iran has never seen or witnessed before."
"I do not want to authorise this level of violence and destruction because of the long term implications that it will have on the future of Iran, but if Qatar's LNG is again attacked, I will not hesitate to do so," he said further.
Qatar Energy, the state-owned oil and gas business, has reported that Iranian missile attacks have caused significant damage to LNG plants in the energy-rich country, including fires and additional damage.

It said firemen were attempting to put out the fires, and no one has been injured so far. Qatar is an important supply of natural gas for the world's energy markets. It had already halted production early in the war, but substantial damage could delay Doha's ability to supply the market once the war with Iran is over.
Israeli Attack On Iran
On Wednesday, Israel launched an attack on Iran's vast offshore South Pars natural gas field, increasing pressure on the region's economic lifeblood: energy. In reaction, Iran increased attacks on its Persian Gulf neighbors' energy facilities, including gas facilities in Qatar. Doha responded by ordering Iranian embassy officials to leave the country within 24 hours.

The price of oil rose another 5% to more than $108 per barrel on international markets as Iran continued to tighten the Strait of Hormuz shipping channel, which transports one-fifth of the world's oil. Brent crude, the international energy standard, has risen by over 50% since the war began.
As the Trump administration seeks to increase oil supplies, the Treasury Department relaxed sanctions on Venezuela on Wednesday, allowing US corporations to conduct business with the country's state-owned oil and gas industry.
