No need to panic: Odisha has 14,000 LPG cylinders in reserve. Minister

Krushna Chandra Patra, Odisha Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister, informed consumers on Monday that the state has enough cooking gas and that there is no need to fear.
Amid concerns over LPG availability, the minister announced today that around 14,000 household LPG cylinders are now in reserve, which is adequate to fulfil current demand.
He asked people not to become worried or resort to panic buying, emphasising that supply is being handled as needed.Addressing the challenges faced by eateries, Patra stated that while LPG supply to hotels and restaurants has yet to begin, the government is making special efforts to restore supply as soon as possible. The move is likely to provide relief to food businesses that have been struggling owing to the inconvenience.

To ensure smooth distribution and prevent misuse, the state administration has increased raids in several places to combat black marketing of LPG cylinders. The minister cautioned that individuals discovered to be involved in illicit actions would face severe consequences.
The promise comes as citizens and companies in towns such as Bhubaneswar have been experiencing concern about LPG supply in recent days.
Officials stress that, with sufficient stock on hand and appropriate procedures in place, the situation is under control, and normal supply, particularly to the hospitality sector, is likely to resume soon.
