Nothing is there. Kalki Koechlin discusses the Bollywood recession openly and makes some audacious claims. Observe

Kalki Koechlin is known for doing out-of-the-box roles. Although throughout her career in Bollywood, she has appeared in a limited number of movies, there has never been any doubt about her acting capabilities and cinematic understanding. Recently during an interview, Kalki Koechlin discussed the bad phase of Bollywood and how the lack of original content has led to a recession in India’s leading film industry.

Even today despite doing so many movies, the actress is popularly known for her role of bubbly Aditi from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. During her recent interview, she said that the role was easy for her because, during her young age, she was a tomboy who loved to climb trees and speak loudly. But she was expected to be louder in the film and that she found difficult initially.

Next she spoke on re-releases and how people are once again discussing about Aditi. Kalki also stated that the actors should demand a royalty now that the re-releases are happening so frequently. According to Kalki Koechlin, “There is a Bollywood recession and that is why they are re-releasing everything. There is no content. Even though there is content it is not working. Exactly! Everything has been stalled."

When asked why people in Bollywood who are naturally aware of this recession are not bringing about any change Kalki said, “Kyunki darr rahe hai. Kisi ko pata nahi chal raha hai ki kya chal raha hai aur kya nahi chal raha hai. Kuch predictions nahi ho raha hai. Toh everything is stalled, everything is stuck. Teams like creative teams are being fired and re-hired. They just do not know why it is not working.”

“And I think people do not realize that there is a crisis going on. And from top to bottom, I have spoken to people. On the top, they have like 7 films, crores of money stuck because they cannot find a platform to release them. And you know there are the chotu actors saying like we never had any work in 2 years,“ she added.
