Odisha CM: Paradip would soon have a greenfield airport

One of Odisha's most well-known maritime celebrations began on Tuesday as Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi opened the Kalinga Bali Yatra 2025 at Paradip in the Jagatsinghpur district.
Speaking during the inaugural event, the Chief Minister reiterated the State Government's commitment to turning Paradip into a major centre of economic development and cultural pride while describing the Bali Yatra as a symbol of the bravery and enterprise of Odia mariners.
As part of Odisha's drive for clean and sustainable energy, Majhi announced a number of significant development initiatives, including the conversion of Paradip into a Green Hydrogen Hub.

He added that the State Government has set up Rs 500 crore for the construction of a cruise terminal on the Mangal River to encourage tourism, and that a new airport will soon be built in Paradip to improve connectivity.
"Paradip will soon be connected by air in addition to land and sea. According to the Chief Minister, it is becoming the entry point for Odisha's industrial and economic development.
Majhi went on to say that Paradip has already established itself as a major port in Eastern India and would remain a centre for employment, trade, and industry.

The event was also attended by MP Dr. Bibhuti Prasad Tarai, MLA Dr. Ramakanta Bhoi, Industries and Skill Development Minister Sampad Chandra Swain, and Chairman of the Paradip Port Authority P.L. Haranadh.
