Odisha districts under yellow alert as heavy rain continues across the state

Yellow Warning For Several Districts Today

According to the Met department, warnings have been issued for Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul and Dhenkanal districts. These areas may witness heavy showers accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds at one or two locations today.

In addition, districts such as Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri are also under yellow alert, with the possibility of intense rainfall in isolated places.

Warning For Tomorrow as Well

The forecast indicates that on September 10, as many as 22 districts will continue to remain under yellow warning, signaling the likelihood of further heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds.

Wet Spell To Continue Till September 13

The regional weather office has further predicted that widespread and heavy rainfall activity is likely to persist in Odisha until September 13. Residents in low-lying and flood-prone areas have been advised to remain cautious, while district administrations are on alert to handle any emergency situations.
