Odisha Governor, Chief Minister Majhi, and other authorities send well wishes as the historic Bali Yatra begins in Cuttack.

Today marks the start of the ancient Bali yatra, which honours Odisha's rich maritime heritage in the Cuttack district. The funfair will be opened this afternoon by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, accompanied by Indonesian Ambassador Ina H. Krisnamurthi.
The grand funfair, which is billed as the biggest outdoor trade funfair in Asia, will go on till November 12. It covers more than 60 acres and offers a variety of food vendors, entertainment, and shopping.
Thousands of vendors have already set up shop, anticipating millions of people every day.
The Mahanadi's upper and lower riverbanks have been exquisitely decorated into a thriving cultural centre ahead of the fair.

Approximately 1,700 stalls have opened at the Bali Yatra this year, including those from the Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS) and neighbouring states. It will include everything from contemporary living items to traditional handlooms and crafts.

As the historic Bali Yatra starts in Cuttack, the governor of Odisha, Chief Minister Majhi, and other officials extend their best wishes.

The expo will highlight Odisha's indigenous art and culture, promote the Odia language, literature, and culture, and provide several additional attractions under its distinctive "Cuttack in Cuttack" theme.
A number of cultural events including renowned performers, such as Bollywood playback singer Shreya Ghoshal and well-known Ollywood figures, have been scheduled to add to the festive spirit.
The Commissionerate Police have reinforced and improved the security measures in light of the large gathering.

Special teams are keeping an eye on important access and exit points, and sufficient police officers have been sent out to control crowds. To prevent congestion, strict parking and traffic regulations have been put in place.
The Fire Services Department is also on high alert to react quickly to any emergency and has fire tenders stationed at several places.
