Odisha: To manage the festive traffic, East Coast Railway launches 367 special trains.

Indian Railways is running almost 12,000 special trains to manage the spike in passenger traffic as the nation enters the holiday season. In order to facilitate passenger travel, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has joined the tremendous effort by running 367 special trains.
More than 78,000 people have benefited from the introduction of 76 special trains thus far, according to ECoR General Manager Parmeshwar Funkwal.
More than 12,000 special trains are in operation around the country under the direction of the Railway Minister. In order to satisfy the demand during the holidays, East Coast Railway has implemented 367 special services, according to Funkwal.

All Indian Railways zones operate special trains, however the most frequent ones are run by the Northern Railway (1,919 trains), Central Railway (1,998 trains), and Western Railway (1,501 trains). In order to satisfy the demand for regional travel, other zones, including East Central Railway and North Western Railway, have also added 1,217 trains apiece, according to the statement.
Senior authorities and members of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) have been stationed at key stations to securely handle the growing crowd. To avoid any unfortunate situations, almost 900 CCTV cameras are constantly watching passenger activity.
In a recent evaluation of the readiness at the New Delhi Railway Station, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw examined passenger amenities and made sure that travel will be hassle-free throughout the holiday season.

Over one crore people were transported nationwide by the Railways' 3,960 special trains between October 1 and October 19. For Christmas travellers, the East Coast Railway, which serves portions of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, remains essential to providing safe and comfortable travel.
