Odisha CM The eighth Konark Eco Retreat and the state's first Watermanship and Life Guard Institute will be opened by Mohan Majhi on Friday, marking a major step towards bolstering the state's emergency response and tourism infrastructure.
Watermanship School Close to Ramachandi Peeth
The State Fire and Emergency Services Department spent Rs 12 crore building the Watermanship and Life Guard Institute next to Ramachandi Peeth. The institute seeks to improve lifesaving abilities and professional ability in water-based rescue operations.
The building includes administrative offices, a restaurant, an officers' mess, and barracks that can house 100 trainees. Swimming, power boat operation, sea and still-water safety, scuba diving, and deep-water diving are among the training modules offered at the facility.

Puri District Collector Dibya Jyoti Parida and Fire and Emergency Services DIG Umashankar Dash examined the site's final preparations prior to the inauguration.
Konark Eco Retreat Will Provide an Exquisite Beach Experience
This season, 70 opulent tent cottages will be available at the State Tourism Department's annual Konark Eco Retreat, which is held close to the mouth of the Kushabhadra River. During Odisha's winter tourism season, the resort provides visitors a distinctive coastal stay experience.
Attending Twin Events with Dignitaries

Speaking at the event, Fire and Emergency Services DIG Umashankar Dash stated that the institute was built with a Rs 12 crore investment from the Odisha government and is anticipated to serve as a national training facility.

He stated, "The Watermanship and Life Guard Institute will play a crucial role in training personnel for lifeguard duties, water sports safety, beach safety, and in upgrading the skills of Fire Services personnel and lifesaving teams."
