OTV has unique footage of a major suspect in a fake sweeper employment scam requesting money from applicants.

OTV has acquired video footage of Padmavati Tandi and Rahul Ray, the main suspects in the bogus sweeper job fraud, publicly requesting money from job seekers in exchange for government positions. This is a significant development in the scandal. The images show how the pair collected thousands of rupees from each applicant after promising them a position as sweepers in government establishments. According to sources, Rahul actively participated in cash collection, while Padmabati directly negotiated with candidates.
According to sources, police have confiscated approximately Rs 62 lakh from the defendants who were involved in the fraudulent sweeper job scheme. Nonetheless, it is anticipated that more than Rs 2 crore was made in total through the deception.

Investigators claim that the accused defrauded candidates from the districts of Sambalpur, Bargarh, Boudh, and Sonepur, taking between Rs 12,000 and Rs 15,000 from each one in return for fictitious employment offers.
Nearly 1,800 people may have been victims of the racket, which offered jobs in exchange for money, according to authorities. The full scope of the scam is presently being investigated.
The scam's method of operation
The suspects allegedly pretended to be middlemen who could obtain Class-IV sweeper positions at government establishments, according to the Burla Police. They allegedly planned local community gatherings, falsified recommendation letters, and utilised phoney documents to entice victims.

Meanwhile, hundreds of victims have lodged complaints with the SP’s office, demanding justice and a refund of the defrauded money. Sambalpur police have intensified investigations to identify other members of the racket and trace the remaining funds.
