A woman claimed that she and her husband were threatened at gunpoint late at night by a neighbour and his colleagues due to some prior animosity, and a report has been filed at the Tangi police station in the Cuttack area.
In addition to doing a spot verification at the complainant's home, police have opened an inquiry.
According to sources, Tiki Ojha, a resident of Badhei Sahi within Tangi police borders, filed the complaint. The lawsuit states that Ojha and her husband went outside to investigate after hearing a loud hammering on their home's gate late on Friday night.
A purported threat at gunpoint
Ojha claimed that a young man named Dablu Maharna, a neighbour, showed up at the gate with a number of other people and got into a heated argument. She said Maharna threatened them with a gun and threatened to kill them.
Ojha told police that the accused was joined in the altercation by four to six companions. She claimed that while her husband was being pursued inside the house, she fled by running in the opposite way."Dablu Maharna abruptly threatened to murder us and raced to attack when we were talking at the door. He was accompanied by four or six additional people. In her complaint, Ojha said, "They chased my husband inside the house while I fled in the opposite direction."
Claims of Abuse and Vandalism
The complainant further claimed that the accused verbally abused her and ordered others to apprehend her during the event. She said that while the group was still looking for her, they vandalised a number of home objects before departing.She claimed that the conduct was meant to terrify her family because of past animosity. "They vandalised several items and stayed in search of me."
Police Action Is Taking Place
Tangi police arrived at the scene after receiving the complaint and started an investigation. Officials verified that statements are being recorded as part of the investigation and that a case has been filed. The claim that a firearm was displayed during the incident is also being investigated by the police.
