Political tension is raised by the Dharmasala clash, and opposing factions protest overnight in Bhubaneswar and Jajpur.

Rival factions of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged parallel overnight protests on Monday, escalating tensions throughout Odisha's political landscape as the political fallout from the Dharmasala violence spread from Jajpur district to the state capital of Bhubaneswar.
An alleged attack on BJD workers in Jenapur, Jajpur, on Sunday served as the catalyst for the nationwide movement.
Political tensions between former Dharmasala MLA Pranab Balabantaray and the current MLA intensified after BJD officials claimed that party members were attacked by supporters of Dharmasala MLA Himanshu Sekhar Sahoo.
BJD leaders and employees staged a night-long dharna outside the DGP camp office in Bhubaneswar as the situation worsened, calling for MLA Himanshu Sahoo's arrest.

In response to the accusations, hundreds of the MLA's supporters staged an overnight demonstration and besieged the Jenapur police station.
Claims of Vandalism and Violence
Pranab Balabantaray, a former Dharmasala MLA, said that during a workers' gathering, his home was attacked, resulting in extensive vandalism and injuries. "Jajpur's fear and anarchy have now reached unprecedented heights. A number of individuals who had gathered in my home for a meeting were assaulted. More than twenty cars were vandalised. Balabantaray said that supporters of Dharmasala MLA Himanshu Sahoo were responsible for the incident, saying, "They also entered my house and vandalised it."

Balabantaray declared that he no longer trusted the local police and that BJD leaders would keep protesting outside the DGP's office until something was done.
BJD Calls Out Previous Incidents and Requests Arrests
According to senior BJD leader Arun Sahoo, the party has formally voiced concerns over the region's frequent violent incidents.

The Additional DG has been notified that throughout the past 1.5 years, there have been multiple incidents of violence and attacks. "The victims were placed in jails, but no action was taken against the perpetrators," Sahoo stated, noting that although promises were made, no timeframe was given.
He declared that the dharna will go on until someone was arrested in relation to the most recent violence.Police investigation, injuries, and counter-allegations
More than fifteen individuals were hurt in the event, at least four of them critically, and they were sent to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, according to Balabantaray. Additionally, he asserted that the attack caused damage to more than fifteen automobiles.
Himanshu Sekhar Sahoo, a Dharmasala MLA, responded to the accusations by denying any involvement and stating that he was at a different meeting at the time. Instead, he claimed, Balabantaray's staff had been attacked by his followers.
An investigation into the violence and associated allegations has been launched, according to police officials. Until this story was filed, no arrests had been formally announced.
