Puri Jagannath Temple is probably going to implement anti-drone technology to improve security.

The Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha, is set to enhance its security infrastructure by implementing anti-drone technology. This decision follows a series of security incidents, including the unauthorized use of drones over the temple and the arrest of a YouTuber for alleged espionage activities. The Odisha government, in collaboration with the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), is taking proactive measures to safeguard the temple, which attracts over 50,000 visitors daily and more than a lakh during festivals like Rath Yatra .

The anti-drone system will be capable of detecting, tracking, and neutralizing unauthorized or potentially malicious drones. Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan confirmed that discussions have been held with the Odisha Police, and the SJTA may fund the installation if necessary. This initiative aims to prevent unauthorized aerial surveillance and protect the temple from potential threats, including privacy violations and security breaches .
