Rajasthan SDM is seen on camera slapping petrol station employees for standing in the CNG queue.

According to police on Wednesday, three petrol station workers in Bhilwara, Rajasthan, have been taken into custody in relation to a slapping incident that involved a RAS officer.
Chhotu Lal Sharma, who is currently assigned as a sub-divisional magistrate in Pratapgarh, got into a heated argument with a staff member at a gas station that also sells compressed natural gas (CNG) on Tuesday.

Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Chhotu Lal Sharma is accused of hitting a petrol station employee following a disagreement about service priority in a video from Pratapgarh. CCTV footage of the incident was obtained. The confrontation started after a disagreement over filling up another car with CNG before the officer's vehicle, according to PTI.

Sharma argued that since he arrived earlier, his car should be fuelled with CNG before the attendant filled up another vehicle. Another employee at the petrol station stepped in during this, but the police slapped him. According to the police, this resulted in the employee slapping back.
The staff member replied in self-defence after the official struck them, according to CCTV footage that captures the entire incident. The cops arrested the petrol station employees after the altercation.
Sharma's wife allegedly said that the pump employees had mistreated her, but there is no proof of this in the CCTV footage that was watched from the location.

Three pump workers, Deepak Mali, Prabhu Lal Kumawat, and Raja Sharma, have been taken into custody in relation to the event, according to the police. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.

Official statements on the subject have not yet been released by local authorities.
Days before to the event, Rajasthan Director General of Police (DGP) Rajeev Kumar Sharma urged police officers to be inspired by the ultimate sacrifice made by martyrs and to serve the country with integrity and commitment.
He was speaking at the Rajasthan Police Academy in Jaipur, which hosted a state-level Police Commemoration Day ceremony honouring 191 police officers who lost their lives while performing their duties between September 1, 2023, and August 31, 2024.
