New Delhi: On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi honoured the security officers who gave their lives during the 2001 Parliament attack.
Senior lawmakers such as Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju, Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Vice President CP Radhakrishnan, Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi, and others honoured the security personnel who lost their lives in the 2001 Parliament terror attack.
Both the opposition leaders and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) paid their respects. Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, honoured the security personnel who lost their lives in the Parliament attack earlier in the day and declared that the country would always remember their sacrifice.
"The 'temple of democracy,' the Indian Parliament House, witnessed a cowardly terrorist attack on this very day in the year 2001, which was a brutal assault on the nation's sovereignty, dignity, and the power of the people," said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in a post. A modest homage to the eternal warriors who gave their life in this tragic event to defend the honour of the Parliament and the country. The country will always be appreciative of them. "Jai Hind!"
Additionally, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari honoured those who gave their lives to defend the Indian parliament after the horrific terrorist attack.We shall never forget what they gave up to keep the country safe. Gadkari remarked. On the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament terror incident, the Central Reserve Police Force also honoured Constable Kamlesh Kumari of the 88 Battalion for her bravery and selflessness.

Constable Kamlesh Kumari of 88 Battalion, #CRPF, showed unwavering courage and unmatched valour on December 13, 2001, during the terrorist attack on the Parliament in Delhi by pursuing the terrorists amid heavy firing and continuously providing information about their activities to her fellow personnel." "All five terrorists were eliminated as a result of her brave acts.She suffered severe injuries during this encounter and eventually gave her life on the altar of duty. She received the Ashoka Chakra posthumously in recognition of her exceptional bravery and unwavering courage. The message stated, "The courageous 'balidani' receives the eternal salutations of #CRPF."
Five heavily armed terrorists from the terror groups Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) attacked the Parliament complex in New Delhi on December 13, 2001, and began firing randomly.
The incident claimed the lives of about 14 persons, including one civilian and security personnel. There were roughly 100 lawmakers in the building when the terror assault occurred, which happened about 40 minutes after Parliament had recessed.The courageous members of the Parliament Security Service, Delhi Police, and CRPF who gave their lives to defend Parliament during the terrorist attack on December 13, 2001, were honoured by the Lok Sabha on Friday.

The House reiterated its unflinching commitment to fighting terrorism in order to protect the country's unity, integrity, and sovereignty.
