As if to poke fun at his ex-wife over the ₹4 crore alimony rumours, cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal has once again generated attention regarding his divorce from dancer Dhanashree Verma. This time, his close friend Shikhar Dhawan joined in the conversation, adding his own twist to the jab.
A cheeky jab at Dhanashree Verma from Chahal
Shikhar Dhawan recently posted touching photos from his Diwali and Bhai Dooj celebrations on Instagram. He shared pictures of himself with his family and wrote, "A lovely Bhai Dooj spent with family." Happiness, love, and enduring memories.
However, Chahal's sly remark on the post was what truly caught everyone's attention.
"I am filing for copyright for your pose brother, at ₹4 crore only," Chahal remarked. "Aapke pose pe copyright maar raha hun bhaiya, 4 crores only." He used emojis of tears and laughter in his remark.
In the comment section, Dhawan responded, "@yuzi_chahal23 Deal pakki (Deal locked) (wink emojis, handshake, and tears of laughter).
Although neither Yuzvendra nor Dhanashree verified the amount, multiple sources during the divorce procedures stated that the payment was approximately ₹4 crore.
Days after one of Chahal's own Instagram pictures went popular, the jab was made. The cricket player uploaded a post referencing a Delhi High Court decision that stated, "Financially independent wives cannot demand alimony from their husbands," in what seemed to be yet another subtle jab.
He captioned it, saying, "Maa kasam khao nahi paltoge iss decision seh," which roughly translates to, "Make a vow to your mother that you won't change your mind." Despite being removed soon after, the tweet went viral in a matter of minutes, igniting contentious discussions on the internet about whether Dhanashree was being personally insulted or merely endorsing the decision.
