Significant funding for soldiers families from the Flag Day Fund: Fadnavis

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis of Nagpur, Maharashtra, stated on Monday that aid from the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund has grown to be a significant source of support for the families of troops who endure hardships and make sacrifices for their country.
At his official mansion in Ramgiri, the chief minister launched the fund-raising campaign.
According to the release, Fadnavis stated that although the life of a murdered soldier is priceless, the government has enhanced the cash assistance from ₹25 lakh to ₹1 crore in order to strengthen the support system for their families.
"There is no way to quantify the soldiers' commitment to the country. To assist their families, a number of measures have been implemented. He stated, "The Flag Day Fund has grown to be a significant source of assistance for the families of soldiers."

Many individuals voluntarily contribute to the fund from their daily earnings, according to Fadnavis, and the funds raised are used for important welfare programs for veterans and their family.
He claimed that during "Operation Sindoor," the world once again saw the bravery of the Indian Army, which is regarded as one of the strongest forces in the world and is equipped to take on new challenges.
The chief minister urged people to donate "as per their capacity and express respect towards the armed forces" to the fund.
To start the fundraising effort, the Flag Day badge was pinned at the event.The district administration and representatives from several departments were commended for reaching the collection goal. Ashish and Santosh Gadikar, florists who donate ₹500 from their earnings each month, received special recognition. Geeta Kothe gave ₹1 lakh, and Major Hemant Jakate, a veteran of the conflicts between 1965 and 1971, gave ₹50,000.
Children of deserving veterans were also honored.
Officials claim that Nagpur district made ₹3.51 crore in 2024, ranking among Maharashtra's top earners. For 2025, the district was given the same goal.
