South Korea won the Uber Cup for the third time after defeating China

South Korea won their third Uber Cup title in Horsens on Sunday after defeating the reigning champions China 3-1 thanks to an incredible team effort. Their increasing power in women's team badminton is demonstrated by this victory. South Korea had previously defeated China to win the trophy in Bangkok (2022) and Kuala Lumpur (2010). At the Forum Horsens, they once again performed admirably and achieved yet another historic triumph. World No. 1 An Se-young had a great start to the match. In just 47 minutes, she defeated world No. 2 Wang Zhiyi 21-10, 21-13, setting the tone and giving South Korea an early advantage.

With sixteen titles, China reacted swiftly. Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning, the formidable world No. 1 doubles pair, defeated Jeong Na-eun and Lee So-hee 21-15, 21-12 in 53 minutes to even the match at 1-1.
In the second singles match, South Korea regained the upper hand. World No. 17 Kim Ga-eun advanced her team closer to the championship after defeating world No. 4 Chen Yufei 21-19, 21-15 in 55 minutes with a calm and efficient game.
In the pivotal doubles match, South Korea's Baek Ha-na and Kim Hye-jeong rose to the occasion as the pressure mounted.Following a 16-21 loss to China's Jia Yifan and Zhang Shuxian in the opening round, the Korean team pulled off an incredible comeback, winning the next two games 21-10 and 21-13 to square the match in 85 minutes.
After losing 0-3 to France in the semi-finals on Friday, the Indian men's team returned from the Thomas & Uber Cup 2026 in Horsens, Denmark, with a bronze medal.
Prior to their semifinal match, the 2022 winners, who had defeated Chinese Taipei in the quarterfinals, experienced a significant setback when their best singles player, Lakshya Sen, was forced to miss action due to an elbow injury.
