After a woman landowner was murdered over a sharecropping dispute a few days ago, tensions are still high in Malkangiri. The Odisha government has stepped up its intervention to stop the situation from getting worse.
K. V. Singh Deo, the deputy chief minister of Odisha, arrived at ground zero and had a lengthy conversation with both sides of the dispute. In order to establish a road of agreement and guarantee enduring harmony between the two communities, he interacted with the people of MV-26 and Rakhalguda.
The BJD Constitutes Team
A seven-person committee has been assembled by the BJD to look into the incident's underlying cause. Authorities extended the ongoing internet shutdown until midnight today as a precaution, despite the fact that things have been essentially normal for the third day in a row.
Southern RDC Examines the Situation There
Sangram Keshari Mohapatra, the Southern Revenue Divisional Commissioner, also went to the impacted area to personally evaluate the situation. The RDC discussed the law-and-order situation with the people of MV-26 while accompanied by the district collector and top police officers.
He reassured the community that normalcy will be fully restored and that peace was gradually returning. He also pledged that the government will support the impacted families and stabilise the region by offering all required aid.
It is impossible to put into words the enormous loss of property. I want to express my gratitude to the Collector and his group for handling the problem so well.
I am in constant communication with the relevant people, and CM has instructed me to come here. "Every necessary action will be taken," Mohapatra declared.
