The BJP leads 22 wards in Thiruvananthapuram and appears poised to leave its mark on Kerala.

In Thiruvananthapuram Corporation, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has acquired an early lead in 22 wards, while the Congress-led United Democratic Front is leading in 11 wards and the state's ruling Left Democratic Front is leading in 16 wards. With 101 wards, the majority score to win the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation is 52.
The BJP, which has spent the last ten years trying to gain control of the urban body of Kerala's capital, will benefit greatly from this trend.
According to news agency PTI, various counting sites in Thiruvananthapuram, Palakkad, and Vadakara have reported problems with granting admission to booth agents and candidates.

Kerala's 1,199 local bodies were up for election in two stages, with counting starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday. EVM votes were counted after the postal ballots. By the end of the day, the results should be available.
According to the PTI report, 244 centres and 14 district collectorates are participating in the counting. The outcomes of Kerala's local body elections are being widely watched since they will influence the state assembly elections that will take place there in 2026.
Kerala's elected panchayat members, municipal council members, and corporation council members will take the oath of office on December 21 at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., respectively.

What preliminary patterns show throughout Kerala
The opposition is ahead in municipalities and corporations, but the ruling LDF was ahead in more gramme and block panchayats than the UDF, according to data from the state election commission, according to the PTI report.
The UDF is now leading in 48 of the 86 municipalities, followed by the LDF in 30, the NDA in just one, and a tie in five. LDF and NDA are leading in one corporation each, while the UDF is leading in four, including Kochi, Thrissur, Kannur, and Kollam.
