In Canada, the infamous Lawrence Bishnoi gang is still causing chaos. The group took credit for Monday's shooting at a Punjabi singer's home and the murder of an Indian-origin industrialist in Abbotsford.
These two crimes occur one day after Jagdeep Singh, also known as Jagga, an active member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, was caught by Rajasthani authorities in the United States.
An industrialist gets killed by a gang.
Goldy Dhillon, a member of the Bishnoi gang, claimed on social media that the group was responsible for the murder of Darshan Singh Sahasi, an industrialist of Indian descent.
Sahasi, 68, was accused by the gang of being a part of a large drug trade and of demanding money from him. The group killed him because they didn't get any money.
Sahasi was reportedly shot and killed on Monday morning outside his home in Abbotsford, British Columbia.
According to the preliminary inquiry, the shooter was waiting for Sahasi to reach his car, which was parked outside his house on the side of the road.
The attacker started shooting and ran away as soon as the 68-year-old got into his vehicle.
Sahasi was in critical condition when the police arrived on the scene. Despite the best efforts of first responders, Sahasi was not able to be saved.
Although no students were hurt, three surrounding schools were placed on lockdown during the incident as part of precautionary "shelter-in-place" procedures.
In Canada, Sahasi relocated. Sahasi served as president of Canam International, a well-known textile recycling business, in 1991.
When he first arrived in Canada in 1991, he held menial jobs. Later, Sahasi bought stock in a faltering textile recycling facility and turned it into a multinational corporation.
Sahasi was a philanthropist in addition to being a prosperous manufacturer. In Abbotsford, Canada, the Punjabi community is grieving and indignant about his passing.
Numerous community leaders have called for the police to act immediately in response to this occurrence, describing it as a severe threat to the safety of Indian immigrants in Canada.
Gang Fires at the Home of the Singer
The fire outside Punjabi singer Channi Nattan's home is the second offence committed by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Gang member Dhillon claimed on social media that Nattan was fired because he was becoming close to musician Sardar Khera.
Although the gang has no personal animosity towards Nattan, Dhillon issued a warning that any performer who collaborates with Khera will bear the consequences of their actions.
