The Odisha government revised the maximum monthly hiring charges for private vehicles used by various government offices in the state.
This revision, effective from May 27, 2025, comes six years after the last update in 2019.
According to a notification issued by the Finance department, the monthly hiring charges have been increased across categories.
The hiring charges for vehicles used by Apex Scale Officers and Ministers have been revised to Rs 50,400 from the previous Rs 42,000.
Similarly, the hiring rate for vehicles used by Blocks/Tahasils and other field offices has been raised from Rs 31,000 to Rs 37,200, while Collectors/SPs can now hire vehicles at Rs 44,400, up from Rs 37,000.
Additionally, for institutional transport, the rates for buses used by colleges and training institutes have been revised depending on seating capacity- for 15-seater Rs 58,500, for 25-seater Rs 71,500, and for 32-seater Rs 90,000.
Special category vehicles like TATA Ace (LGV) are capped at Rs 33,500, and Mahindra/Bolero/Tata pickups at Rs 42,000. Minimum mileage requirements have also been specified, ranging from 6 to 17 KM/L depending on vehicle type.
