Trump declares that he "would love to" run for a third term as president.

In 2028, US President Donald Trump has left open the prospect of seeking a third term in office.
During his interview with the media aboard Air Force One, Trump responded, "I would love to do it," in response to former White House adviser Steve Bannon's recent suggestion that he run for an unlawful third term. My numbers are the finest ever.
But he "hasn't really thought about" running again, he said swiftly.
By designating Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio as leading candidates for the 2028 presidential election, Trump indirectly alluded to the possible successors who might head the Republican Party following his term.

"We have some really good people," Trump remarked, gesturing to Rubio. "I don't need to get into that," he concluded. He went on, "One of them is standing right here."
Additionally, the president commended JD Vance, his vice president, "JD is excellent, of course. The vice president is excellent. Trump remarked, "I doubt anyone would challenge those two.
According to Politico, Bannon, a close friend of the former president, has been one of the most outspoken supporters of Trump's potential third term, recently asserting on his podcast that "there is a plan" for him to do so. But a president can only serve two terms under the US Constitution.

After a successful trip to Malaysia, where he attended the ASEAN Summit, Trump has now reached Tokyo for the second leg of his Asia tour.
