Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Reveals His Wild Ambition Ahead Of IPL 2026: "Wahi Record Todna Hai"

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, a young Indian batting sensation, has declared a wish to win the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season with the Rajasthan Royals and contribute as much as possible. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who plays for the IPL's Rajasthan Royals (RR), attended the BCCI Naman Awards in New Delhi on Sunday, where the India Under-19 men's cricket team was recognized for their victory in the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2026. Speaking at the BCCI Naman Awards, 14-year-old Sooryavanshi stated that his objective for the 2026 IPL season is to win the trophy and to contribute as much as possible to the team's success.

"Our goal this season is to win the team award. If we win the trophy, it will boost both the franchise and my individual performance. In an Instagram video broadcast by Star Sports, Sooryavanshi stated, "My goal is to contribute as much as I can to help the team win."
Sooryavanshi was named Player of the Match in the U-19 World Cup final against England for his match-winning inning of 175 runs off 80 balls, which included 15 fours and sixes, reaching his century in 55 balls, one of the fastest in U-19 World Cup history, and assisting India in winning the World Cup for the sixth time.

Sooryavanshi is also the youngest IPL début at 14 years and 23 days, as well as the youngest to smash a century in the IPL with just 35 balls against the Gujarat Giants in the 2025 season, breaking Yusuf Pathan's record.
Speaking about his path, Sooryavanshi, who is from Samastipur, Bihar, said, "When I made my domestic debut, RR was keeping an eye on me during my domestic and Under-19 games." Their scouting team had been keeping an eye on me for a while. "I felt comfortable going to RR because my trial with them had gone so well," he explained.

"I am happy to be with RR, as I have improved a lot too in my life while playing for them," according to him.
