"Very eerie" is how Reddit responds to Miss England Milla Magees comments regarding parading for male sponsors.

Miss England Milla Magee, who was representing the United Kingdom at the ongoing Miss World 2025 competition in India, grabbed the limelight not for her beauty but for quitting the event because she felt that the organisers were exploiting her. The international beauty event is currently being held in Hyderabad, Telangana, and these allegations from Milla can be said to be a stigma to the beauty pageant, which has a history of 74 years.

In her remark, Milla Magee who earlier worked as a lifeguard said, “I…came to make a difference but we had to sit like performing monkeys. It’s stuck in the past.” The Newquay, Cornwall beauty further said, “Morally I could not be a part of it.”

The beauty further alleged that she felt as if she was a prostitute and the sponsors farmed out the contestants for entertainment making the contestants’ parade in front of them. Milla also stated that the format of the show is outdated and the 109 beauty pageant contestants were criticised as boring.

Milla left the contest on May 16 and was immediately replaced by another beauty from the United Kingdom. Her exit left many followers of the beauty pageant aghast. One of the social media users said, “I feel for her but the competition having a swimsuit round and not a scientific achievements round should have made her realise this before. Also, it is the same all over the world for pageants.”

Another user called it incredibly creepy and said, “This has been the format for countless number of years, did they not watch the previous years before joining or does she want brownie points?”

In one of her interviews, the former  Miss World contestant also revealed that some of the contestants were asked to go for dinner with the male sponsors. While many may criticize that it all happened because the pageant is being held in India and the sponsors must be Indians, the truth is that the same thing has been happening at all such beauty contests for decades.
