As Trumps most recent peace initiatives fail, Russia bombards Ukraine.

Russia launched several drone and missile attacks on Ukraine as US President Donald Trump's most recent diplomatic initiatives seemed to be failing.
According to Air Defence and local officials, the attack in the early hours of Wednesday killed at least two civilians in Kyiv and injured scores more throughout the nation. Residential neighbourhoods and energy infrastructure in the capital, central Poltava, and southern Zaporizhzhia were among the targets. According to officials on Telegram, the port city of Izmail on the Danube was also affected.
More than half of Ukraine's gas production, which is necessary for heating, has been cut off due to increased strikes by Moscow on the country's energy infrastructure ahead of winter.

Due to the increasing Russian bombardment, Chernihiv in the north and Sumy in the northeast have been without electricity and water for several days.
October has been one of the most severe months for attacks on Ukraine's grid, transportation systems, and gas production facilities since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion, which is now well into its fourth year, according to the country's energy ministry.
