Jailed former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan unleashed a stinging attack on the country's army head Field Marshal Asim Munir, calling him a “radical Islamist” who “yearns for a war with India”
Aleema claimed on Sky News' "The World with Yalda Hakim" that Munir's "Islamic radicalization" compels him to combat unbelievers.
Asim Munir is a conservative and extremely radicalized Islamist. He longs for a conflict with India because of this. Aleema stated on the program, "His Islamic radicalization and conservatism force him to fight against those who don't believe in Islam."
Aleema Khan compared her brother’s ideas with that of Munir and added that Imran Khan was a “pure liberal”.
"You'll see that Imran Khan always tries to make friends with India, including the BJP, whenever he takes office. Whenever there is this radical Islamist, Asim Munir, you will see that there will be war with India and not just India, even the allies of India would suffer," she warned.
Aleema called on the West to step up efforts to liberate Imran Khan, calling him a "asset."
Imran Khan meets another sister.
Amid rising concerns regarding Imran Khan’s health and allegations by his family requesting confirmation that he is alive, authorities at Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail on Tuesday permitted the former prime minister’s sister, Uzma Khanum, to meet him, Pakistani newspaper The Dawn reported.Uzma Khanum entered the prison while scores of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters who had accompanied her gathered outside the facility.
The meeting happened while the PTI protested outside the Adiala Jail and the Islamabad High Court, claiming that Imran Khan's visitation privileges were being restricted. According to the party, he has been closed off to senior leaders and members of his family for a number of weeks.
PTI's US handle released a claimed video of Imran Khan's sister addressing to the media after seeing her brother. "Imran Khan's health is perfectly fine," Khanum is heard stating. But he claimed that Asim Munir is to blame for all of this and that they are torturing him mentally.
Rumours concerning Imran Khan’s death escalated after his sisters were reportedly refused permission to meet him despite court orders permitting family contact.
