At the Reserve Police Ground in Buxi Bazaar, Cuttack, Odisha, the 70th State Police Duty Meet got underway Thursday. Police officers and trained dogs from all throughout the state attended the meeting. The event, which runs until October 19, includes a variety of professional challenges designed to improve modern policing techniques and operational efficiency.
Participating in the event are 273 police officers, 43 canines, and 43 handlers from 34 police districts and enterprises. The Belgian Malinois, Labrador, Doberman, and Mudhol Hound are among the dog breeds that are taking part.
Because of its quickness, sharpness, and keen sense of smell, the native "Mudhol Hound" has become the event's main draw."The 70th State Police Duty Meet has been inaugurated with participation from teams across different districts," stated DGP YB Khurania. Over the following three days, the tournament will continue to cover a variety of categories. The state team for the All-India Police Duty Meet will be formed from the top performers in this event.
The Karnataka-based K-9 unit now includes eight Mudhol Hounds, who help the police track down criminals, find bombs, and identify drugs.
