On Thursday, Odisha DGP Yogesh Bahadur Khurania stated that despite a massive attempt to "sabotage" the recruitment exam, the Odisha Police Sub-Inspector (SI) examination remained unaffected because of the prompt attention and coordinated monitoring by several police units.
The DGP’s remarks came during the 70th State Police Duty Meet in Cuttack. During an interaction with the press, the DGP stated that Odisha Police was able to detect and halt examination proceedings before anyone could secure a job unfairly.
“During the SI exam recruitment proceedings, we had directed the SPs, Crime Branch, and Special Branches of all districts to maintain vigil and ensure that the recruitment exam was conducted smoothly and fairly. Because of these precautions, the offenders were caught before the exam,” said the DGP.
He also emphasised that all of the offenders will be apprehended and the recruiting process's integrity will be restored by the Crime Branch, which is currently leading the investigation into a soaring job-selling ring.
"The investigation is currently being handled by the Crime Branch, and I have complete faith that they will conduct a proper probe and apprehend all the accused," he continued.
Full investigation is the responsibility of the crime branch.
The DGP affirmed that the Crime Branch has assumed responsibility for the matter and is conducting an unbiased investigation to find and apprehend everyone involved in the scam. In order to hunt down evasive applicants who tried to cheat using remote-access software and falsified admit cards, investigators are working with technical specialists to trace digital evidence and validate exam results.
According to sources, the Crime Branch is currently working on a thorough chargesheet that is anticipated to contain the names of applicants, brokers, and staff members who are suspected of interfering with the hiring process.
