Did PVR Inox prefer Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat by Harshvardhan Rane to Ayushmann Khurrana Thamma? What a movie theatre chain says

On October 21, Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna's Thamma and Harshvardhan Rane's Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat are scheduled to open in cinemas. Days before its premiere, the makers of Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat have claimed that the movie "isn't receiving equitable consideration in cinemas." PVR INOX is in charge of both films' distribution. According to India Today, which cited its sources, PVR INOX is "colluding with its exhibition wing to block out Ek Deewana Ki Deewaniyat."
According to reports, Thamma received more screens and show slots due to prior reservations, which is the basis of the controversy. In contrast, Ek Deewana Ki Deewaniyat offers fewer choices. Advance reservations are often accepted for four days at multiplexes with one screen per property.

According to reports, PVR INOX has now granted Thamma an exception.
Anshul Garg of Desi Movie Factory, the producer of Ek Deewana Ki Deewaniyat, told India Today, "We have chosen to go the theatrical way in a time when there is a lot of reliance on streaming sites for funding. Ek Deewana Ki Deewaniyat has produced four commercially popular songs and a very promising movie, thus it is unfortunate that they are not being given equal credit in theatres.
"Dreams and passion—values that we cherish—are the foundation of the film industry. It is completely unfair to try to deny us this goal and limit the audience for our work. We're still holding out hope that common sense will win out and that our movie will be given a fair shot," Anshul continued.
