Dim sum and sausages containing "human teeth" cause a serious food safety concern in China.

According to a report by the South China Morning Post (SCMP), "many startling findings of human teeth in food items have reignited public concern over food safety in China."On October 13, a mother from the northern part of Jilin province reported discovering three artificial human teeth in a row inside a sausage she had purchased for her toddler. We bought the grilled sausage from a stand outside. After the local market oversight authorities stepped in, the vendor later apologised for initially denying that the teeth were present at the time of sale.
Another woman reported that same day that her father found two human teeth in a Sanjin Soup Dumplings restaurant in Dongguan City, southern Guangdong province, while they were eating dim sum.

The woman attested that her father did not own the teeth.

The restaurant business said that all of its dumplings came straight from corporate headquarters, but they were unable to explain how the teeth got there. Since then, local officials have begun looking into the event, according to SCMP.
Authorities start their investigation
According to SCMP, China's Food Safety Law requires businesses that produce or sell contaminated food to reimburse customers three times their losses or 10 times the item's price, with a minimum of 1,000 yuan.

The event is being investigated by the Shanghai Pudong New District Market Supervision Department.
