WHAT CAUSED AYUSH MHATRE'S INJURY?
Mhatre arrived early and appeared to be in great form during CSK's pursuit against Sunrisers Hyderabad, when he was injured. He put pressure back on the bowlers by reaching 30 in just 12 balls.
But when he finished a second run, he abruptly stopped and held his hamstring, obviously uncomfortable. Mhatre needed on-field care, so the physiotherapist hurried onto the pitch.
He continued to bat, hobbling between the wickets despite finding it difficult to move freely. His attempts at quick singles, which put him at risk of a run-out because of his restricted movement, made the situation more worrisome.
When he mistimed an attacking shot and was caught in the infield, his innings came to an end.
