Due to the passing of Zubeen Garg, the Brahmaputra Valley Film Festival has rescheduled its event for 2026.

Assam's cultural centre is still in mourning for Zubeen Garg, one of its most cherished symbols, who died in Singapore last month. In recognition of the late singer's enormous contribution to Assamese art and culture, the organisers of the 10th Brahmaputra Valley Film Festival (BVFF) have graciously decided to postpone the festival until 2026.In an emotional Instagram statement, the festival's organising team announced the postponing of the event, which was originally planned for December 4–7, 2025.
