Friend-turned-foe masterminds Rs 20 lakh robbery; Bhubaneswar Police crack case

Two people, including the complainant's close acquaintance, were detained by Bhubaneswar police on Wednesday for allegedly planning and carrying out a Rs 20 lakh robbery close to the Pahala area.
Sources claim that the lawsuit was filed after Prabhat Kumar, the complainant, was injured in a sword assault during the encounter. Saroj Sutar and Babulu Behera have been taken into custody, but other accomplices to the crime are still at large.
The events leading up to the robbery
According to police, on November 24, Prabhat took out a loan of Rs 20 lakh from another acquaintance. Alongside him at the time of collecting, Saroj Sutar allegedly plotted with his friends to seize the whole sum. According to the police, Saroj set up a stop for Prabhat next to Jalsa Bar under the guise of having tea.As per the pre-planned arrangement, two vehicles containing Saroj’s companions arrived at the place when the two were sitting. After reportedly attacking Prabhat with a sword, the group allegedly ran away with the full Rs 20 lakh.
How Police Detected the Inside Role
Despite following the complainant to the police station after the assault, Saroj’s claims raised contradictions. Investigators conducted a careful assessment of CCTV footage from the location and reviewed the call detail records (CDRs) of the accused.
According to reports, the video and mobile-location patterns showed synchronized movement with the attackers and refuted Saroj's allegations. Police seized him for questioning after identifying him as the main conspirator in the heist scheme.

Recoveries and Evidence Seized Sources said that police have seized Rs 5.70 lakh in cash from the apprehended suspects, along with the sword used in the attack and a sports motorcycle reportedly used during the robbery.

Multiple CCTV frames revealing the presence of the vehicles engaged in the crime scene have been entered as evidence. Reconstructing the chronology was made easier by the presence of operational security cameras along the Jalsa Bar stretch, which was determined to be the crime scene.
Continued Look for Additional Accused
Several members of the heist group are reportedly fleeing, according to Pahala police. Raids are underway at numerous sites to trace and arrest the remaining suspects. A formal dacoity complaint has been filed, and as the search continues, further recovery are anticipated.

Search operations are concentrated on locating the vehicles involved in the heist and the remaining stolen cash as part of the ongoing investigation under Pahala police boundaries.
